More details

An accessible trail through mature Ozark hardwood forest to Haw Creek Falls in the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest, Arkansas. The falls drop about 8 feet over a picturesque limestone cascade — clear pools above and below make it a swimming hole in warm weather. Only 100 yards from the trailhead parking area. The Ozark Highlands Trail passes through here, connecting to longer routes including a 5-mile stretch to Cedar Creek swimming hole. Pack Rat Falls, a taller cascade in a narrow canyon, is 0.25 miles from the campground. Free 40-site campground on site (first come, first served). Big Piney Wild and Scenic River nearby. Subject to flash flooding — check weather before visiting. From Hagarville, take AR-123 north 14 miles; from Pelsor, take AR-123 west 12 miles.
