Begin on a fairly wide trail walking thru large trees. The first 2 miles are mostly in the shade. After 2 miles of gentle climbing, the trail narrows and becomes more exposed. On a clear day, views of Glacier, Sloan, & Kyes Peaks can be seen to the west.
